Farm Life 3: Power Choices

I decided on neither I like the idea of scientists stealing children to turn them into super humans. I have a basic plot/background information in my head, and I'll jot it down now before I get into detail about the powers.

Okay, so this little girl who can't be more than twelve ( I haven't decided on her age yet) and her parents decide to visit the farm for some reason. I don't know why yet. Maybe they want to by some produce? Maybe it's not even a farm anymore. I don't know. We'll see. I just know the house is centuries old and is supposed to attract people. Not too many at once, but a decent number of people visit per year.

Anyway, the girl seems interesting enough to the farmers so they kill her parents, sedate her, and take her to the institution where they perform their experiments. There are different levels. You start off at level zero which means you have no powers. As you get more powers/more experiments done to you you get more levels, but there are tests that you must pass before you go to each level. It involves an arena and battling the other experiments to the death.

The winner goes on to the next level.

So my next question is, what power/enhancements will the give the girl? I don't really know her personality too much, but I do know she's tough, cold, a fighter at heart. She prefers to work alone. Sometimes, in the arena, when they allow more than two people in the battlefield, people make alliances. She doesn't.  She's slightly arrogant about her abilities, but she  doesn't slam that into people's faces. She's witty and sarcastic. She doesn't like to ask for help. She's stubborn and easily angered.

So let's dive into those powers. I don't really want to give her an elemental power. I feel like those are overused for some reason, but if I were to give her one it would be earth.

I considered necromancy for awhile, but I don't think that's her style. She likes to work alone, and summoning the dead just doesn't seem like her.

Psychic abilities? I may give her one and only one ,but I don't want that to be her focus. She's a fighter, and psychic ability just isn't violent enough. Not for her.

Chi and energy. I really like this one since they work together. She's a fighter, so this will work well for her. It will require research.

So it's between Earth, Chi/Energy.

Benefits of having Earth: She'll control plants, rocks, etc etc. And maybe even have a love for plants, which is funny considering you'd expect someone bright and happy to have a love for plants. I may even make her a vegetarian.

Benefits of Chi/Energy: Martial Arts. This is the power of a fighter, and she is a fighter, but I think this power may make her... 1D.

So I'm going with Earth. They will also enhance her hearing, speed, strength, stamina, and eyesight.

She'll either see the history of objects or the future through dreams. No, I'm giving her clairvoyance.

Clairvoyance is a risky one for the scientists. It would allow whoever has this power to hear and see their conversations unless they did something about it. I wouldn't be suprised if the augmented themselves so that no one could use their powers on them.

That will need to change later, and will prove an interesting problem to fix.
